🎯 AIM AND OBJECTIVES

This one week long training of youth workers focuses on European institutions (mainly EU, but also beyond). It will place an emphasis on how their actions translate into lives of citizens and how people can get engaged with them and have their say when policies and activities are being created. They will see that those are not some distant groups of officers and politicians, but institutions whose work is closer to us more than people think or are told.

The participants will, for example, explore how European citizen initiative works, what channels they can use to promote their voice in European institutions, or when it makes sense to submit a complaint or even seek help at the court.

🌍 CORE VALUES OF THE PROJECT

Project's programme is designed around the following three objectives:

1. Ready - Providing insights into various European institutions - their structures, working mechanisms, and interesting facts

2. Steady - Raising awareness of how those institutions bring benefits to citizens’ everyday lives and equip participants with know-how for spreading this awareness and answer to misinformation

3. Europe - Empower participants with knowledge and skills needed to effectively use opportunities for engagement with European institutions (through various tools and channels)

The institutions to be covered are European Parliament, Commission and European External Action Service, Council and Council of the EU, European Central Bank, Court of Justice of the EU, Committee of the Regions, European Economic and Social Committee, European OmbudsCouncil of Europe, and agencies of the UN.

🔍 PARTICIPANTS' PROFILE

18+ years old people who are interested in European institutions, politics, and citizenship, regardless of their previous knowledge or experience with the topics of the European politics and the work of institutions, ready to stay and work on this project and also implement a follow-up activity after returning to their communities. Please READ all carefully.

🏠 ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

Organizers will provide accommodation and food during the period of the mobility (meals and coffee breaks). The food is planned to be provided at the accommodation and is traditional and common in Slovakia and the Central European area. Still, participants will also have study visits in the city and eat outside so in order to avoid disappointments, be aware that the majority of the dishes are specific to the area. Persons with allergies, special diets, or different restrictions should inform the hosting organisation about their diets before the mobility starts so they can inform the kitchen.

Accommodation venue is not far from the town of Trnava, Slovakia: Guesthouse "Pension na priehrade" in Sucha nad Parnou (more information is available: penzionnapriehrade.sk). You will be sharing the room with someone. Most of the rooms have 3-4 beds, so around 3-4 people in a room; some rooms have 2 beds, depending on availability. Each room has a bathroom.

💱 TRAVEL COSTS & REIMBURSEMENTS

Travel costs for Armenian participants will be calculated based on the distance calculator of the European Commission and reimbursed by bank transfer after the training course (in EUR) through direct reimbursement to participants' bank account. According to the distance calculator for Armenia, the maximum travel cost is 395 euros.
