From 19 to 23 October, the “Mentoring for Impact” training course took place in Bucharest, Romania, bringing together mentors and youth workers from different countries involved in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). The programme provided an inspiring space for learning, exchanging experiences, and exploring new approaches to making mentoring more meaningful and impactful in ESC projects.

Throughout the training, participants explored the role of mentoring in supporting volunteers during periods of transition, well-being challenges, and future career planning. Through interactive workshops, group discussions, and experience-sharing activities, they reflected on their mentoring journeys, explored what makes mentoring impactful, and identified practical ways to strengthen their support for volunteers.

The programme combined reflection with learning through activities such as the “Impactful Encounters” walk and talk, "Mentoring Market", and several workshop rounds focused on learning experiences, managing transitions and clarifying future directions. Participants also explored practical approaches and tools for increasing their impact, shared their own experiences, and developed ideas for applying what they had learned in their future mentoring activities.

Beyond the workshops, the training created valuable opportunities to connect with fellow mentors, discover different organisational approaches, and strengthen relationships within the mentoring community. By the end of the programme, participants left with fresh perspectives, practical tools, new connections, and renewed motivation to support volunteers throughout their European Solidarity Corps journeys.
