🚀Youth Unite for Climate Action: Armenian Participants Join Erasmus+ Exchange in Kaunas

From October 15-23, participants from Armenia joined peers from Spain, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Serbia in Kaunas, Lithuania, for a youth exchange focused on climate action and community impact.

The Erasmus+ youth exchange aimed to address the climate crisis through awareness, collaboration, and local action. Held in Kaunas, Lithuania, participants from five countries, including Armenia, came together to explore solutions to global and local environmental challenges. This program provided us with a platform to engage in thought-provoking activities, cultural exchanges, and community service.

Throughout the week, we participated in various workshops and community action days. Each day focused on different aspects of the climate crisis:

  • Introductions, including group-building activities like the “Ultimate Climate Challenge,” helped set a collaborative tone.

  • Discussions on “Our World in 2050” inspired us to envision sustainable futures.

  • A community action day in Garliava allowed us to engage with local youth and work towards shared environmental goals.

Participating alongside youth from Spain, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Serbia offered us insights into the diverse ways’ climate issues are addressed globally. Collaborating in Garliava, for instance, allowed us to bond with local students and witness the real-world impact of youth involvement in environmental projects. We learned that tackling the climate crisis requires a blend of personal commitment and community action.

This exchange deepened our understanding of climate justice and empowered us to take more personal responsibility for the environment. The friendships and connections we formed are equally invaluable, reminding us that this experience is not just a stepping stone but a long-lasting network for change.

Erasmus+ youth exchanges like this are powerful avenues for learning and activism. We encourage other young people to participate in such opportunities, to broaden their perspectives, and become the initiators of change in their communities.

Thank you to Global Citizen Academy and INEDNET Armenia NGOs for this collaboration and the implementation of this project. Their support and dedication made this impactful experience possible.
