From August 7th to 14th, 2024, the peaceful town of Balatonkeresztúr, Hungary, became a vibrant gathering place for young people eager to enhance their communication skills and forge lasting international friendships. The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange program, titled "Communication", brought together participants from Armenia, Hungary, Georgia, and Greece for an intensive week focused on communication and teamwork.
Throughout the week, participants explored the multifaceted nature of communication, covering verbal, non-verbal, and digital communication skills. A variety of activities, such as presentations on each country's unique communication styles, added depth to the experience.
The Armenian team led a public speaking workshop, which was not only informative but also fun and educational. The exchange also touched on crucial topics like political decision-making, problem-solving at work, and the role of communication in these processes.
A highlight of the program was the surprise visit to Budapest by Harutyun Tsatryan, the co-founder and president of INEDNET Armenia. Later, in Balatonkeresztúr, he was joined by Diana Yeghiazaryan, the co-founder of INEDNET. Both attended the cultural night, where they participated in the activities, empowering and supporting the participants with their presence.
Cultural exchange was another major highlight, with cultural nights allowing participants to share their traditions, values, and customs. These sessions fostered a deeper appreciation of cultural differences and the way they shape communication styles․
A key focus of the exchange was teamwork. Through group projects and collaborative tasks, participants were encouraged to develop and present creative solutions to communication challenges. Whether brainstorming ideas or tackling communication-related scenarios, this collaboration helped them gain confidence in expressing their thoughts and working effectively in diverse teams.
While the formal workshops were impactful, much of the exchange’s magic happened in these informal moments. Whether sharing meals, enjoying late-night chats, or simply spending time by the lake, participants formed strong emotional bonds that made the experience even more meaningful.
The farewell ceremony was emotional, as participants reflected on the profound experiences they had shared. Many expressed their excitement to apply the new skills and insights in their personal lives and future careers.
