"Experience(d) Youth Work" Itinerant Youth Workers Exchange

The project will be implemented in Molfetta, Italy 20-24 March 2023 (arrival day 19th of March; departure day 25th of March).

The Youth Worker Exchange will consist of a 5-day international training for youth workers who work directly with young people from inclusion groups in the deprived rural environments (NEETs). The training will be based on experiential learning – innovative training practice of learning in movement and nature with other international youth workers while trying out different tools (nature and art therapy, different journaling techniques, non-formal group activities) and documenting the learning process.

Other Objectives include:

• Reflecting on the challenges and opportunities while working with young people

with fewer opportunities;

• Sharing the practice and competencies on how those challenges and opportunities

may be addressed;

• Connecting physical and mental learning process;

• Learning to document non-formal learning;

• Reflecting and assessing youth work practices and competencies using European

recognition tools;

• Collecting and disseminating innovative youth work methods which can be

applied with inclusion youth groups.

Who can apply (Profile of the participants)?

• be youth workers who work with NEETs (working directly with young people from inclusion groups in deprived rural environments);

• be willing to invest in their personal and professional development;

• be motivated to try out new methods and tools and apply them with their

target groups;

• be fluent in English;

• fully participate for the whole duration of the project;

• be ready to engage in active physical and mental activities;

• be aware that youth worker training is not a holiday but a learning experience.

Participants will live a unique mobility experience around the region: Puglia. During the mobility activity, they will change the accommodation almost every night, experiencing different styles of hosting structures (houses, b&bs, hostels). Participants must anticipate lots of walking (~60 km) and hiking.

The participants are entitled to travel only in the foreseen travel days (not before and not later).

The travel budget per participant for this project is 360€. The tickets will be bought by participants. If the travel expenses exceed the budget allocated, the participants/organizations are required to cover the extra costs themselves.

The travel reimbursement will be made at once by bank transfer after the youth worker exchange and within 60 days after the original travel documents (including original boarding pass) have been received by the organizers. Scan copies of tickets and screenshots of boarding passes are not eligible! There is a participation fee for the selected participants.
